Let’s get social! Attending our socials is a great way to build community among disabled students and our allies. Catch up with old friends and meet new ones. The best way to learn about what’s going on at SBA (and so that you don’t miss out on the fun!) is through subscribing to our newsletter or joining us on Facebook. But for now, here’s what to expect:
Monthly lunches: Every last Monday of the month from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, SBA hosts a lunch for all our members! Every month it is something different and we are always open to recommendations. We prioritize vegan and gluten-free dishes but please note that we provide meat options.
SBA-CWTP Cooking Nights: Join us and the Centre for Women and Trans People for a fun, participatory evening of community cooking. We cook and share a delicious meal, and help clean up together. You don’t have to have any experience with cooking to join us and everyone can join in with food preparation in whichever way they are comfortable. The recipes are affordable and easy to make, and we will be cooking vegan and gluten-free dishes. Free! Everyone welcome!
Craft Days and Nights: Throughout the year SBA hosts bi-weekly/monthly craft days and nights! Depending on interest, we teach knitting and crocheting, postcard and card making, and colouring nights. Do you have a craft skill you’d like to share? Feel free to email us and we can work to bring it to one our craft events!
This is a queer and trans positive and family friendly space. Accessible and gender-neutral washroom located on the same floor as the event space. Please note that this will be a scent-free space.
